Basketball Recap: Plainfield South Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Plainfield South won the last time they faced Plainfield Central, and Layla Lesure did her part to make sure it happened again. The Plainfield South Cougars breezed past the Plainfield Central Wildcats to the tune of 68-21 on Tuesday thanks in part to Lesure, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 14 rebounds. She is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last ten games she's played.

Another player making a difference was Tierra Abner, who posted 12 points in addition to six assists and six boards. That's the most assists she has posted since back in December of 2024.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Plainfield South, bringing their record for this year to 13-16. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.5 points over those games. As for Plainfield Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-23.
