 Sadly, Cornell is still looking for their first win of the season after six  games. They took  a  7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clairton Bears on Thursday. Cornell was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Clairton apparently hadn't forgotten their  loss the last time these teams played  back in April of 2023.
  Terrance Collington was cooking despite his team's loss,   scoring two  runs and  stealing three bases while going 1-for-3.
 Even though they lost, Cornell  didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and  finished the game with eight  strikeouts. That's the most  strikeouts they've managed all season.
 On Clairton's side,  Adonte Wiggins made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  didn't allow a single  earned run over seven innings pitched. Wiggins was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-3.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Michael Wright Jr, who  scored a  run and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Jontere Sanders, who  went 1-for-3 with a  stolen base and  an  RBI.
 Cornell's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Clairton, their win  ended  a  three-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 2-5.
 The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: they beat Cornell by a score of  24-13 later that day.
