Calvary Christian had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Jefferson Dragons 2-0. The victory was familiar territory for the Warriors, who have now won five matches in a row.

Calvary Christian got a great performance from Grayson Gibson as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over 6.2 innings pitched. Gibson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Calvary Christian's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Darian Collins, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most hits Collins has posted since back in March.

Calvary Christian's victory bumped their record up to 25-3. As for Jefferson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-9.

Calvary Christian will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Dragons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
