Basketball Game Preview: Dooly County Bobcats vs. Telfair County Trojans

Dooly County is 1-7 against Telfair County since February of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Dooly County Bobcats will head out on the road to face off against the Telfair County Trojans at 6:00 p.m.

Last Saturday, Dooly County came up short against Wheeler County and fell 55-43.

Meanwhile, Telfair County made easy work of Toombs County on Saturday and carried off a 49-28 victory. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 21 points or more this season.

Telfair County found their leader in freshman Ty'Kristiany Jones, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 steals. Jones continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ty'Teionna Jones, who posted four points in addition to ten rebounds and three steals.

Telfair County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 29 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 17 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Telfair County's win bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Dooly County, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Dooly County was taken down by Telfair County 46-4 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Dooly County was down 34-0.
