Baseball Recap: Braden River Takes a Loss

Braden River and St. Petersburg squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Braden River had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Green Devils by a score of 3-2. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Green Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2019.

Jackson Williams made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Braden River has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 15 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-17 record this season. As for St. Petersburg, they pushed their record up to 15-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Braden River does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Petersburg, they will face off against Northeast at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Green Devils' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
