Football Recap: East Carteret Comes Up Short + How To Watch

East Carteret lost against West Carteret back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Mariners were dealt a 48-20 loss at the hands of the Patriots. The Mariners were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-6.

Joshua Bauman was a one-man wrecking crew For West Carteret. as he rushed for 203 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.2 yards per carry. Bauman was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 69 yards. Another player making a difference was Tanner Payne, who threw for 144 yards and three TDs.

East Carteret's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for West Carteret, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Carteret will host Arendell Parrott Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Mariners surely won't give up without a fight. As for West Carteret, they will be playing at home against North Brunswick at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 979 yards in their previous games.
