Soccer Game Preview: Mountain Pointe vs. Horizon Honors

The Mountain Pointe Pride will face off against the Horizon Honors Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mountain Pointe's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Mountain Pointe's offense. They lost 11-0 to Chaparral on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Pride can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 149th, while the Firebirds are ranked third).

Meanwhile, Horizon Honors came up short against Phoenix Country Day on Friday and fell 4-2. The loss continues a trend for Horizon Honors in their matchups with Phoenix Country Day: they've now lost seven in a row.

Horizon Honors' defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Mountain Pointe, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.
