Softball Recap: Five Straight Road Victories for Clayton Valley Charter

Clayton Valley Charter had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Alhambra Bulldogs a 6-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for the Ugly Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Not much got past Camdyn Alton, who gave up just two hits and racked up 13 Ks to keep Alhambra off the board. Alton has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Clayton Valley Charter let Anja Perreira and Victoria Collins run wild. Perreira went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double, while Collins went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double was Perreira's first of the season.

The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Alhambra, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-6.
