Football Recap: Fairview Tigers vs. Girard Yellowjackets
After only six points in their last contest, Fairview made sure to put some points up on the board against Girard on Friday. The Fairview Tigers walked away with a 31-20 win over the Girard Yellowjackets. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Fairview got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Vincent Campoli out in front who rushed for 77 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 89 yards and a touchdown while completing 80% of his passes. Another back making a difference was Tyler Benford, who rushed for 120 yards and a touchdown.
Fairview's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. The picks came courtesy of Benford and Joey O'Reilly. That's the most rushing yards Benford has posted since back in October of 2023.
Fairview was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 261 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Girard only rushed for 63.
