Escambia is 8-1 against Foley since February of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Escambia Gators are taking a road trip to face off against the Foley Lions at 6:30 p.m. Escambia is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

Escambia is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Booker T. Washington with a sharp 15-1 win on Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Parker Zareck looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Tucker Nix was a standout: he scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Taivyn Anderson, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Escambia was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .565. The last time their batting average was this high was back in February of 2024.

Meanwhile, Foley didn't have quite enough to beat Flomaton on Tuesday and fell 2-1.

Escambia pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs over those games. As for Foley, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.

Friday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Escambia has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .502. However, it's not like Foley struggles in that department as they've averaged .463. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Escambia skirted past Foley 6-4 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Will Escambia repeat their success, or does Foley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
