Basketball Recap: Sunrise Mountain Comes Up Short

Sunrise Mountain was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 73-61 to the Valley Vikings. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Miners of the 74-66 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Sunrise Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Valley, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-8.

Sunrise Mountain will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Basic at 6:30 p.m. As for Valley, they and Cimarron-Memorial will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played.
