Basketball Game Preview: Menendez Falcons vs. St. Augustine Yellow Jackets

Menendez is 2-8 against St. Augustine since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Both will face off at 7:30 p.m. without much rest having both just played.

Menendez is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 55 points on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Tocoi Creek on Thursday. They had to suffer through a 60-26 loss at the hands of the Toros. The game marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Augustine). They enjoyed a cozy 71-56 victory over Bartram Trail on Thursday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Yellow Jackets considering their ten-point performance the matchup before.

St. Augustine is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. As for Menendez, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-11.
