Football Recap: Dynamic Duo of Hunter Schmidt and Tj Winter Lead Classical Academy to Victory

Classical Academy won against Crawford last Friday with 28 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Caimans enjoyed a cozy 28-14 win over the Escondido Charter Tigers. The Caimans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.

Classical Academy was led to victory by Tj Winter and Hunter Schmidt. Winter rushed for 93 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only nine carries, while Schmidt rushed for 87 yards and two scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Classical Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 212 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

The victory made it two in a row for Classical Academy and bumps their season record up to 2-3. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 27 points in those games. As for Escondido Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Classical Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 20-14 defeat against Coastal Academy on the 26th. As for Escondido Charter, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 35-0 loss against Santa Fe Christian on the 26th.
