Brookfield is 9-1 against Memorial since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Warriors will square off against the Red Devils at 5:00 p.m. Brookfield will be strutting in after a victory while Memorial will be coming in after a loss.
Brookfield barely beat Newton Falls the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 13-5 margin over the Tigers on Saturday. That looming 13-5 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Warriors yet this season.

Madison Obermiyer made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and one run. Those two triples gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Elaina Boyce was excellent, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times she's played. Mariah Norris also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Brookfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Memorial couldn't beat Mineral Ridge on Wednesday even though they stacked six runs on them in the seventh inning. The Red Devils fell just short of the Rams by a score of 11-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Red Devils have suffered since March 25th.
Ramani Adams was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and nine unearned) runs off nine hits. Adams was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Mileesa Williams and Mileena Williams stepped up to the plate in a big way. Mileesa went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI, while Mileena went 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Emily Cleland, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Brookfield is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Memorial, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-10.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Brookfield has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Memorial struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Brookfield suffered a grim 24-9 defeat to Memorial in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
