Basketball Recap: Charlestown Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

On Saturday, the Charlestown Townies earned a 63-56 victory over the North Polar Bears. Given the Townies' advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while the Polar Bears are ranked 241st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Charlestown's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for North, their loss dropped their record down to 2-14.

When Charlestown and North next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Charlestown will face off against Braintree and their six-game winning streak at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday. Meanwhile, North will try to stop Central Catholic's six-game winning streak when the meet at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.
