Baseball Game Preview: Dr. Krop Lightning vs. American Patriots

Dr. Krop and American are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2017, but likely not for long. The Dr. Krop Lightning will challenge the American Patriots at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Dr. Krop and seven for American.

Dr. Krop came into this matchup off a tough 13-run defeat on Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Flanagan by a score of 6-4 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Lightning have suffered since April 18, 2024.

Ryan Pena was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Esaul Pena, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Meanwhile, while it was American who put the first points on the board on Wednesday, it was Archbishop Carroll who put up more. American took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Archbishop Carroll.

Dr. Krop's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for American, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Everything went Dr. Krop's way against American in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Dr. Krop made off with an 8-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dr. Krop since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
