Football Game Preview: Burke County Bears vs. Rockmart Yellowjackets + How To Watch

The Burke County Bears are taking a road trip to challenge the Rockmart Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Burke County sitting on five straight victories and Rockmart on ten.

Burke County is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Columbia, posting a 48-21 win. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won seven contests by 25 points or more so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Burke County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Landen Wright, who rushed for 138 yards and one score on only 13 carries, and also picked up 30 receiving yards. Sean Vandiver was another key player, rushing for 112 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries.

Burke County didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Columbia to a completion percentage of just 36.7%. The team can thank Bruce Rackins for the heroic effort on defense: he. Burke County wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 60%.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Rockmart against Laney on Friday as the team secured a 48-18 victory. The Yellowjackets are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the ninth game they've won by 20+ points this season.

Burke County better focus on containing Nate Davis and Tucker Parson as the pair were huge in Rockmart's win. Davis rushed for 192 yards while picking up 9.6 yards per carry, while Parson threw for 188 yards and four TDs while completing 87.5% of his passes. Davis' rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his eighth straight game with at least 116 rushing yards. A healthy portion of Parson's aerial production (118 yards to be exact) went to Gavin Green.

Burke County's record is now 10-2. As for Rockmart, their record now sits at 11-1.

Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Burke County has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 214.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Rockmart struggles in that department as they've been averaging 226.1 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
