Basketball Game Preview: Leake Central Gators vs. Louisville Wildcats

Leake Central hasn't had much luck against Louisville recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Leake Central Gators will head out to face off against the Louisville Wildcats at 6:00 p.m.

Leake Central is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Friday. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 51-45 heartbreaker at the hands of Northeast Lauderdale. While losing is never fun, the Gators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while the Trojans are ranked 35th).

Meanwhile, Louisville beat Kosciusko 57-47 on Friday.

Louisville is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.4 points per game. As for Leake Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-13.

Leake Central came up short against Louisville in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 45-35. Can Leake Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
