Basketball Recap: Jack Sexton's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Campbell County over Lenoir City

It was a proper cat-fight when Campbell County faced off against Lenoir City on Thursday. The Cougars fell 65-54 to the Panthers. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

Campbell County lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jack Sexton, who posted 12 points and six rebounds. Caden Heatherly was another key player, putting up eight points and six steals.

Campbell County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Campbell County will take on South-Doyle in a tournament on Wednesday. As for Lenoir City, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 47-43 loss against Clinton on the 22nd.
