Volleyball Recap: Central Comes Up Short

Central suffered their biggest loss since October 9th on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to the Potosi Trojans. The defeat continues a trend for the Rebels in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost five in a row.

Mia Monges paced Central's offense, picking up nine kills. Monges got some help from Hanna Petty and her 14 assists. Petty was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Macyn McCarthy had an outrageously good game for Potosi as she had 16 digs and three assists. McCarthy has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 12 times she's played.

Central's loss dropped their record down to 7-24. As for Potosi, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-4-2 record this season.

Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Potosi, they will face off against Ste. Genevieve at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
