Softball Recap: Colony Wins High-Profile Matchup Against Wasilla

Colony faced Wasilla in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Knights' pitcher stepped up to hand the Warriors an 8-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won 12 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Kaidence Browning made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted over her last eight games. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Morgan Gallagher was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Alexis Congdon, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Colony's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-5-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Wasilla, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-8-1.
