Springfield barely beat Quincy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Senators' defense stepped up to hand the Blue Devils a 7-0 shutout on Thursday. The result was nothing new for Springfield, who have now won ten contests by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Quincy with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Kamryn Hoffman (4), Kalyn Burton, Bridget Lyons, and Addie Maddox.

Springfield's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four matchups. As for Quincy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Springfield will welcome Sacred Heart-Griffin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Quincy, they will look to defend their home pitch on Saturday against Jacksonville at 11:00 a.m. Quincy will be up against Jacksonville's rather soft defense (which has allowed 4.1 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
