The Morristown Yellow Jackets will challenge the Herron Achaeans at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Morristown is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.
Morristown took a loss when they played away from home last Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They put the hurt on Oldenburg Academy with a sharp 12-2 victory. The win continues a trend for the Yellow Jackets in their matchups with the Twisters: they've now won four in a row.
Abby Hawk was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Hawk was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.

In other batting news, Nevaeh Cox was incredible, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and two stolen bases while going 3-for-3. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mykynzy Smith, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
Morristown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .556. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Herron lost 17-9 to Sheridan on Monday.
Layla Williams made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Cotham, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs.
Herron's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Morristown, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Morristown has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Herron struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Morristown might still be hurting after the 18-5 defeat they got from Herron when the teams last played back in April of 2021. Can the Yellow Jackets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
