Volleyball Game Preview: Potosi Trojans vs. Ste. Genevieve Dragons

Potosi is 2-8 against Ste. Genevieve since October of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Trojans will challenge the Dragons at 7:00 p.m. Potosi is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

Potosi barely beat Farmington the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Trojans put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 3-0 win on Tuesday.

While Potosi won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-23, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Ste. Genevieve didn't have quite enough to beat North County on Tuesday and fell 3-2.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Ste. Genevieve sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 27-25, 16-25, 25-16, 23-25, 15-11.

Ste. Genevieve's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6-1. As for Potosi, their victory bumped their record up to 14-3-1.

Potosi took their win against Ste. Genevieve in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Dragons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
