Volleyball Recap: Taft Takes a Loss

Taft was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 2-0 to the West Vikings. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Melody Franks paced Taft's offense, picking up five kills. Franks got some help from Karsynn Owens and her eight assists. Karla Perez controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Taft's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for West, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Taft has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Garces Memorial on the 22nd. As for West, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 1-1 tie against Golden Valley on the 22nd.
