Softball Recap: Burlingame Comes Up Short

Burlingame lost against Woodside back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Panthers fell 6-2 to the Wildcats. The Panthers' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Burlingame saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Amalia Alfers, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Burlingame's loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Woodside, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 13-10 record.

Burlingame and Woodside could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Panthers will take on King's Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (474 vs. 107). Meanwhile, Woodside (ranked 235th) will meet Capuchino (ranked 49th) at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
