Basketball Recap: Raegan Ramsay and Emma Simpson Secure Win for Parke Heritage

Parke Heritage had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They put the hurt on the South Putnam Eagles with a sharp 61-37 victory on Friday. The Wolves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 matches by 24 points or more this season.

Leading Parke Heritage to victory were Emma Simpson and Raegan Ramsay. Simpson went 6 of 12 on her way to 13 points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals, while Ramsay went 7 for 13 en route to 17 points and seven boards. Simpson is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Lila Busenbark, who went 5 of 7 to rack up 10 points.

Parke Heritage smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive contests.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chlara Pistelli, who went 6 for 11 on her way to 13 points. What's more, Pistelli also posted a 20% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's posted since back in November of 2024. Lilly Emmerich was another key player, putting up 12 points and five rebounds.

Parke Heritage is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.6 points over those games. As for South Putnam, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-11.

Parke Heritage wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 60-44 win against Southmont on the 8th. South Putnam does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
