Basketball Game Preview: Gretna Hawks vs. Chatham Cavaliers

The Gretna Hawks will head out on the road to take on the Chatham Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gretna will be strutting in after a victory while Chatham will be coming in after a loss.

On Friday, Gretna was able to grind out a solid win over Nelson County, taking the game 59-46. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hawks.

Meanwhile, Chatham was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 68-64 to Dan River. The Cavaliers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Chatham now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Gretna, their victory bumped their record up to 10-1.

Gretna beat Chatham 66-54 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Chatham's Jonavan Coles, who went 8 for 20 en route to 23 points and eight rebounds. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be easier for Gretna to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
