Eastside was handed a 21-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Dunnellon Tigers 16-14. That's more bragging rights for the Rams, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Dunnellon's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tony Tanner, who picked up 60 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 61 yards. Tanner didn't just play on offense: he also made ten total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defended one pass.

Eastside's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Dunnellon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eastside will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on South Sumter at 7:30 p.m. on the 10th. The Raiders will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Rams surely won't give up without a fight. As for Dunnellon, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Specially Fit Academy at 7:30 p.m. The Rams' defense has only allowed 13.8 points per game this season, so the Tigers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
