Volleyball Recap: Sweetwater Extends Winning Streak to Five

Sweetwater entered their tilt with Montgomery on Tuesday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Aztecs. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 two weeks ago.

Sweetwater was led to victory by Eldrin Rodriguez and Sergio Salazar. Rodriguez had seven digs and three aces, while Salazar had ten digs, three aces, and two blocks. Salazar is also crushing it when it comes to assists: he's posted at least 12 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Kalvin Arcedera, who had 18 digs and one assist.

Sweetwater's victory bumped their record up to 24-7. As for Montgomery, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-14 record this season.

Sweetwater will square off against Granite Hills at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Montgomery has already played their next game (against Hilltop), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
