Basketball Recap: Ankeny Comes Up Short

Ankeny was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by the Northwest Wolves 90-52. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Wolves are ranked first).

Ankeny's defeat dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Northwest, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 16-3.

While Ankeny had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday.
