San Dieguito Academy hasn't had much luck against Torrey Pines recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Mustangs will host the Falcons at 6:00 p.m.
On Monday, San Dieguito Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Mt. Carmel and fell 3-2.
In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, San Dieguito Academy sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 18-25, 25-18, 17-25, 15-10.
Despite their defeat, San Dieguito Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Alanna Fregoso, who had 11 digs, three aces, and one block, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Riley Balogh, who had six digs, four blocks, and two aces.
Meanwhile, Torrey Pines had already won 14 in a row and they went ahead and made it 15 on Monday. They put the hurt on the Broncos with a sharp 3-0 victory.
One reason for the win was Torrey Pines' just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-16, 25-8.
Torrey Pines' win bumped their record up to 32-4. As for San Dieguito Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 8-23-1.
