Basketball Recap: Linganore Extends Winning Streak to Six

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Linganore ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They walked away with a 74-65 victory over the Governor Thomas Johnson Patriots. The win was familiar territory for the Lancers who have now won six contests in a row.

Linganore had a senior duo take command as Dylan Hodgson dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten boards and Brandon Donaldson posted 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hodgson has scored all season. Quintin Byrd was another key player, putting up ten points.

Linganore's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-6. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 36.8% in those games and 22.8% outside of them. As for Governor Thomas Johnson, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.

Coming up, Linganore will head out to challenge North Hagerstown at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Governor Thomas Johnson, they will challenge Tuscarora on Tuesday.
