Recap: Jones County Greyhounds vs. Houston County Bears
It was a good run, but the Jones County Greyhounds unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 66-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Houston County. Jones County lost against Houston County in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 67-57 score last time.
Jones County's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaleel Jordan, who scored 20 points. Kaden Douglas was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Jones County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Houston County, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Jones County will head out on the road to face off against Northside at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Northside focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Tuesday. As for Houston County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Perry at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
