Baseball Recap: Parkway Central Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Parkway Central kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Ladue Horton Watkins Rams by a score of 3-2. The defeat was just more heartbreak for the Colts who fell 8-6 when the teams previously met back in May of 2023.

Brian Kang was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits.

At the plate, Parkway Central saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colin Applebaum, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Ladue Horton Watkins' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Parkway Central will venture away from home to square off against Gateway Science Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Ladue Horton Watkins, they will take on Kirkwood at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
