Softball Recap: Simley Extends Winning Streak to Three

Simley barely beat Pine Island the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Spartans put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 12-5 win on Friday. Fans of the Spartans have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

The victory (which was Simley's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 14.7 runs this season. As for Pine Island, they dropped their record down to 1-4 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coming up, Simley will head out on the road to square off against Washburn at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Pine Island, they will host Medford at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
