Basketball Recap: Centennial Takes a Loss

Centennial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They fell 52-44 to the Champaign Central Maroons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Maroons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 50-19 back in January.

Champaign Central's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alex Parastaran, who posted 11 points and six boards. Parastaran is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games she's played. Samara McArthur was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Centennial's defeat dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Champaign Central, their record is now 10-14.

Centennial does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Champaign Central, they will face off against Danville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
