Softball Recap: Fillmore Comes Up Short

After flying high against Nordhoff on Thursday, Fillmore came back down to earth. The Flashes came up short against the Newbury Park Panthers on Friday, falling 10-1.

Fillmore saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Azaria Aguilar, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Fillmore's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Newbury Park, they moved to 14-8 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Coming up, Fillmore will square off against Channel Islands at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raiders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.33 runs per game on average), something the Flashes will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Newbury Park, they will challenge Oaks Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Panthers 3.3, the Lions 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
