Baseball Recap: Cumberland Gap Takes a Loss

Cumberland Gap lost against Washburn last Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Cumberland Gap fell just short of Washburn by a score of 6-4.

Hunter Gibson was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Kole Carter was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Cumberland Gap's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Washburn, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cumberland Gap will square off against Scott at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. This will be Cumberland Gap's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Washburn, they are taking a road trip to challenge Gatlinburg-Pittman at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
