The matchup between Central and Silverton on Wednesday hardly resembled the 1-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Panthers put the hurt on the Foxes with a sharp 18-8 victory. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won 14 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Central is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games. As for Silverton, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-8.

Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Silverton, they will be playing at home against West Linn at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Foxes' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
