Softball Recap: Wenatchee Sets Scoring Season-High Against Davis

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wenatchee). They blew past the Davis Pirates 23-2 on Thursday. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.

Autumn Sutherland was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Makinley Cardona, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Wenatchee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .565. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2024.

Wenatchee pushed their record up to 10-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Davis, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-16.

Looking ahead, Wenatchee will challenge West Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Davis does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
