Basketball Game Preview: Antelope Valley Antelopes vs. Highland Bulldogs

Antelope Valley is 0-10 against Highland since January of 2020 but things could change on Thursday. The Antelope Valley Antelopes will square off against the Highland Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. Antelope Valley will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.

Antelope Valley is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Palmdale: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Antelope Valley blew Palmdale out of the water with a 70-23 final score. The Antelopes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 games by 20 points or more this season.

Antelope Valley relied on the efforts of Niya Price, who posted 19 points, and Ariana Soil, who put up 18 points. Soil has been hot for a while, having posted 17 or more points the last 31 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Leandriah Zachary, who had ten points.

Meanwhile, Highland waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They secured a 54-48 W over the Lions.

Antelope Valley pushed their record up to 20-1 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.8 points per game. As for Highland, they now have a winning record of 13-12.

Antelope Valley couldn't quite finish off Highland in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 and fell 52-50. Can Antelope Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
