Basketball Game Preview: Marlboro Academy Dragons vs. Christ the Cornerstone Academy Defenders

The Marlboro Academy Dragons will venture away from home to face off against the Christ the Cornerstone Academy Defenders on Thursday.

Marlboro Academy can't be too happy about their upcoming road game considering what happened when they opened their season away from home on Tuesday. They came up short against Christian Academy, falling 64-38. The matchup was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly the Dragons struggled afterwards.

Meanwhile, Christ the Cornerstone Academy took their contest on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 57-17 victory over Antioch Christian Academy. The Defenders have beaten the Gators the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Gators has come to flipping the script.

Marlboro Academy better keep an eye on Hogan Lowe. He was instrumental in Christ the Cornerstone Academy's win, going 5-for-12 to rack up 13 points and six rebounds. Lowe is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Coby Chavis was another key player, putting up four points in addition to six boards and five assists.

Marlboro Academy couldn't quite finish off Christ the Cornerstone Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 and fell 49-46. Can the Dragons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
