The Wahkiakum Mules will venture away from home to take on the Naselle Comets at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wahkiakum is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.

Wahkiakum is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ilwaco.

Cooper Carlson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Hank Wilson was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Naselle, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They skirted past Toutle Lake 6-4.

Naselle is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Wahkiakum, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.

Wahkiakum couldn't quite get it done against Naselle in their previous meeting two weeks ago as they fell 7-2. Can the Mules avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
