Basketball Recap: Allie Jones' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lee over Thomas Walker

Lee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 34-31 heartbreaker at the hands of the Thomas Walker Pioneers. The Generals were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Pioneers earlier this season, when they won 60-28.

Lee's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Allie Jones, who posted five points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Jones a new career-high in assists (two). Another player making a difference was Phalicity Pennington, who earned five points along with six boards and four steals.

Lee's defeat dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Thomas Walker, their win bumped their record up to 5-11.

Lee didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 59-25 loss against Union on the 11th. As for Thomas Walker, they have also already played their next game, a 52-27 defeat against Twin Springs on the 7th.
