Basketball Recap: Pinewood Christian Comes Up Short

Pinewood Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 52-46 heartbreaker at the hands of the Westminster Schools of Augusta Wildcats. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Pinewood Christian lost, don't look at Banks Hearn. Despite the final result, he posted 27 points. That was a full 58.7% of Pinewood Christian's points, marking the 11th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Kinlaw, who scored ten points.

Pinewood Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Westminster Schools of Augusta, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.

Pinewood Christian will venture away from home to challenge David Emanuel Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Westminster Schools of Augusta, they will host Frederica Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
