Basketball Recap: Butler Falls Despite Big Games from Paris Floyd and Rania Curry

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Butler can now relate to. They took a 42-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Josey Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, with their most recent loss being a 66-58 defeat last Thursday.

Despite the defeat, Butler had strong showings from Rania Curry, who en route to 17 points in addition to seven boards and three steals, and Paris Floyd, who posted ten points and six rebounds. Floyd is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 29 games she's played dating back to last season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Josey to victory, but perhaps none more so than Keasia Henderson, who earned 17 points and six assists. Shaniya Sanders was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 12 points and nine boards.

Butler's loss dropped their record down to 19-7. As for Josey, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-3 record this season.

Butler does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Josey, they will challenge Thomson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Thomson is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.8 points per game this season.
