Volleyball Game Preview: McCallum Knights vs. Crockett Cougars

McCallum is a perfect 10-0 against Crockett since October of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cougars at 7:30 p.m. McCallum will be strutting in after a victory while Crockett will be coming in after a defeat.

McCallum extended their road winning streak to seven games thanks to a huge performance from Aaniya Thorton. The Knights were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Liberal Arts & Science Academy - Austin on Tuesday with plenty of help from Thorton, who had 14 digs and four aces. She has been hot, having posted 13 or more digs the last six times she's played.

McCallum was especially dominant in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-14, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Crockett unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-match winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to Anderson.

The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-9, 25-7.

McCallum's win bumped their record up to 24-10. As for Crockett, their loss dropped their record down to 12-19.

Everything went McCallum's way against Crockett in their previous meeting back in September, as McCallum made off with a 3-0 victory. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
