Softball Recap: Marsh Valley Comes Up Short

Marsh Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 12-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bear Lake Bears. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Mya Anderson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Mya Loertscher also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Even though they lost, Marsh Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Marsh Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Bear Lake, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-6.

Coming up, Marsh Valley is taking a road trip to challenge Preston at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bear Lake, they will face off against North Fremont at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
