Basketball Recap: Medgar Evers College Prep Finds Home Court Redemption Against Tilden

There's no place like home for Medgar Evers College Prep, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They took down the Tilden Blue Devils 61-44 on Wednesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Medgar Evers College Prep also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Medgar Evers College Prep had a senior duo take command as Noah Scobie went 10 for 20 on his way to 22 points in addition to six boards and five steals and Tyree Keitt posted 17 points along with seven steals and five boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Scobie has scored all season. Giovanni Lewis was another key player, putting up six points along with 13 boards and five steals.

Medgar Evers College Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive games.

Medgar Evers College Prep's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Tilden, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Medgar Evers College Prep will venture away from home to challenge Frank J. Macchiarola at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Tilden, they will host Adams Street Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Adams Street Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Tilden likes a good challenge.
